Comita: the CRM+ I built for us

Why heycomita turned into our own CRM+, what Comita can do today and why it is not yet for sale.

For a long time our daily life ran across too many windows. The mail sat with Google, so did the contacts, the tasks in a tool hardly anyone opened, the invoices for bogati24 in a Hungarian billing program, the payments for CuraLogik at Stripe. We had even set up an off-the-shelf CRM. We never used it. It did not fit a family that organises an event house in Hungary, a software product in Germany and a perfectly ordinary private life in two languages, all at once.

So I built my own, a CRM+. It is called Comita, runs at crm.diereuters.de and has been in use every day since October 2026. The name comes from heycomita, our first idea of a service that makes technology usable for people. The idea stayed, only the field moved: Comita no longer makes the home manageable, it makes the work manageable.

One login, several businesses

The core is unspectacular, and that is exactly why it matters. Comita knows tenants; for us these are the private area, bogati24 and CuraLogik. Whoever signs in sees every area they belong to and filters with one tap. A company exists only once: if the same supplier works for the event house and for the family, it does not appear twice. What stays separate are the transactions, meaning mails, appointments, quotes and invoices. Private contacts, such as doctors or family, are visible only to members of the private area. The database itself enforces this separation, not just the interface.

Sign-in works with a passkey, meaning fingerprint or face recognition on the phone. There is no password. Comita was built for the phone from day one, because Christina and I spend most of our time away from a desk.

Contacts, mail and calendar in one place

Contacts and companies can be imported from Google, created by hand or photographed from a business card. One button fills in missing details from the web, each with a source, and only applies them once I agree. The search finds "Bogáti" even if you type "Bogati", and warns about duplicates.

The mailboxes are connected directly. Incoming mail lands with the right contact and company; unknown senders are suggested as new contacts. The AI summarises long threads, translates between German and Hungarian and drafts replies. Sending is up to me. The calendar syncs with Google in both directions, and appointments are attached to the contact. Tasks can be assigned, and whoever gets one hears about it on Telegram.

From quote to invoice

For bogati24, quotes and invoices are created directly in Comita, in Hungarian or German, with their own number ranges and clean cancellations. Income and expenses are recorded, receipts sit next to them as documents. In sales, every prospect has a deal with a stage and a next step, linked to mails, appointments and quotes. The AI drafts campaigns and social media posts, I approve them, and then they go out at the scheduled time.

Documents and knowledge

Documents are stored encrypted, read even when they are only a scan, and linked to a contact, company or invoice. For receipts Comita calculates the retention period and reports when it has expired. Deletion happens only by hand. An importer brings over our old Paperless archive, tags and correspondents included.

On top of this sits a question function. You can ask Comita where the rental contract with a particular customer is, or how a feature works, and get an answer with sources. If the system finds no evidence, it says so instead of making something up. You can also speak into almost every text field instead of typing.

Two voices on the phone

The most unusual part is the phone assistant. At bogati24, Gábor answers in Hungarian; at CuraLogik, Ramona answers in German. Both answer questions, take enquiries, book demos and suggest callbacks and reminders. Outgoing calls and text messages never start on their own. Every single one needs my thumbs-up, and a contact can be excluded from calls entirely with one tick.

That is the principle running through everything: the AI suggests, a person decides. External AI services are switched off per area at first and have to be enabled deliberately. I do not consider that excessive caution. A system that calls customers in my name has to earn that trust first.

Why you cannot buy Comita yet

Comita is in use, but it is not a product. That is a difference I do not want to blur. A system we work with ourselves forgives a lot, because I fix every bug the next morning. Anyone buying Comita for their own business needs more: a customer layer with plans and billing, a data processing agreement, regulated support access, proper onboarding of new customers and a complete export or deletion of all data on request. The architecture is prepared for this; it has not been built yet.

Until then, Comita is what it is meant to be: the tool that holds our businesses together. If you are interested in Comita because you are sitting in front of the same jumble of windows, feel free to write to me. I am not promising a delivery date. But I like to hear what others need before I decide whether this becomes a product.
